Mayfield Garden, near Oberon, was founded in the mid-1990s and is now one of the world’s largest privately-owned cool climate gardens. Mayfield Garden, which is owned by the Hawkins family, spans more than 160 acres (64H) and is located on a 5,000-acre working farm.

Mayfield Garden has announced that this year’s Autumn Festival will run from Saturday, April 2 to ANZAC Day, Monday, April 25.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Mayfield Family Chapel is also open and features a beautiful steel and glass wall that overlooks the Chapel’s private garden. The northern view from the summit of the hill — Mayfield’s highest point with amazing views down to the Watergarden and valley beyond. The doors on the eastern side are fashioned from reclaimed hardwood salvaged from the property’s former shearing shed. Our professional stone masons have cut and carefully placed locally quarried blue stone on external walls.

This year’s Festival dates include both the Easter Break and the First Term School Holidays.

Mayfield Garden is open all year and features a Cafe & Produce Store serving a garden & paddock to plate menu as well as a well-stocked cool climate nursery.

Autumn is one of the most spectacular and popular times to visit Mayfield Garden, with the amazing Autumn colors this year are boosted by one of Mayfield Garden’s strongest growing seasons in its history.

The growth we’ve witnessed is a once-in-a-generation occurrence, and those who know the garden will be astounded not only by how much it’s grown and how quickly it’s maturing.

Visitors to the festival are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch or to reserve a table at the renowned Mayfield Café to enjoy the seasonal menu.

Mayfield Garden’s extraordinary kaleidoscope of Autumnal colors makes the Autumn season the most impressive time of year to visit. Visitors can explore Australia’s largest English Box Hedge Maze, the Mayfield Amphitheatre, the Cascade and Temple, the Family Chapel, the Water Garden, the Stumpery, and row on the glassy Mayfield Lake.

Glamping will not be available at this year’s Autumn Festival, but look for a revamped Glamping product to be introduced at this year’s Spring Festival.

Mayfield Garden now covers 36 acres and features a water and stone feature garden, blue-stone bridge, iron and stone arbor, copper tree fountain, obelisk pond, an allee of London Plane trees, Valley of the Five Ponds, Venus Vale, The Gallery, and more. The water lilies in bloom in Summer, the colorful foliage of Autumn, the raw structure of trees on display in Winter, and the lush growth and heady scents of Spring are all spectacular in this cool climate garden. Mayfield Garden is included in the ticket price for Private Garden Seasonal Festivals and is not sold separately.

Winter Festival NSW

Mayfield Garden was created to make the most of every season. Take a full day to explore the garden and see the raw structure of the trees on display in winter, as well as participate in our activities such as a 200-meter toboggan ride down the Ally of Plain trees and plenty of delicious catering to keep you warm and festive.

Spring Festival
